Ada Woo, PhD, director of measurement and testing at the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) joined ACT in September as Senior Director of Strategy Implementation and Operations for ACTNext.
“I am very excited for this leadership opportunity at ACTNext. ACT has the brand recognition and a proven reputation for producing solid research which places it in a uniquely advantageous position. No one is better suited to move into adaptive learning and to lead the industry, in terms of shaping the future of assessment and ed-tech. I’m enthusiastic about Marten’s vision for the future of the company. When Alina approached me about implementing her strategy for ACTNext, it was immediately evident that she’d assembled a remarkable team and I’m very pleased to be a part of it.”
Woo holds a PhD in Quantitative Psychology from The University of Texas at Arlington and has been a leader in psychometric and measurement efforts at the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) since 2009. Woo has planned and executed major psychometric projects and programs for NCSBN and supervised the management of test development, examination content and psychometric teams, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies. She has published research on a variety of topics, including measuring higher-order cognitive constructs within the field of assessment.
“Ada will further enable ACT to transform as a learning company,” said Vice President of ACTNext Alina von Davier. “As a proven leader in the field of learning and assessment, the addition of her expertise will greatly benefit ACTNext in the development of the next generation of learning and assessment technologies.”
