Erin Yao is a Data Scientist at ACT in the AI & Machine Learning group and is the Product Manager for ACT’s automated scoring engine, CRASE+.
Prior to joining ACT, she taught high school math & computer science and led summer data analysis projects for a school district. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 with a degree in Secondary Math Education and a certificate in Computer Science. Erin has presented at several conferences on Automated Scoring and Math Education topics and is a co-author of a Precalculus textbook. Erin’s current research interest is determining methods and defining best practices to automatically identify disturbing content in open-ended student responses to enable technology to assist in escalating content to ensure timely student interventions.
